Privacy Policy
The Adventures Guild ("the Guild," "we," "us") is an independent anime guide and watch tracker. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We try to keep this document short and honest.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the service. Specifically:
- Email address — when you sign in via magic link. Used to authenticate you and to send the link itself.
- Profile data you provide — username, display name, avatar URL. All optional except username, which is auto-generated until you change it.
- Your watch lists and reviews — anime status (watching / completed / etc.), episode progress, scores, written reviews you choose to publish.
- Authentication metadata — Supabase sets short-lived auth cookies after sign-in. Necessary for sessions to work.
- Standard server logs — IP address, user-agent, request path, and timestamp, retained briefly by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
We do not currently collect: payment information, location data, marketing-tracking identifiers, or behavioural-advertising profiles. We do not run third-party analytics that build cross-site profiles of you.
Where it lives
- Database — Supabase (PostgreSQL), region
eu-north-1(Stockholm). - Auth — Supabase Auth (email + magic-link, no third-party identity providers).
- Hosting / edge cache — Vercel.
- External anime metadata source — AniList (read-only, no personal data sent).
Why we use it
- Run the service — show you your lists, save your reviews, sign you in.
- Public profile pages — if you visit your
/u/[username]profile while signed out you'll see exactly what other people see. Your lists and reviews on that page are visible to anyone who knows the URL. Your email is never shown. - Security — block abuse, rate-limit suspicious requests.
Affiliate links
Some links to streaming platforms (Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) on this site may be affiliate links. If you sign up after clicking, the Guild may earn a small commission at no cost to you. Affiliate clicks generate a redirect through the partner network — those partners may set their own cookies on the destination site, governed by their privacy policies, not ours. We never share personal data with affiliate partners; the redirect carries an opaque tracking ID only.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, the GDPR / UK GDPR applies. You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify — correct inaccurate data. You can edit your profile and reviews directly in the app.
- Delete — request account deletion. We will remove your auth record, profile, lists, and reviews from the live database.
- Port — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Object / restrict — limit how we process your data.
- Lodge a complaint — with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at aaius1234@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove the records from the live database within 14 days; encrypted backups containing the data are rotated out within 90 days.
Children
The Guild is not directed at children under 16 (or 13 in the United States). If you are under that age, do not create an account. If we discover an account belongs to someone underage, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the date of the most recent change. Material changes will also be announced via email if you have an account.
